St Paul's Being Cleared

So the Occupy London (a.k.a. Occupylsx") camp outside St Paul's Cathedral in London is now being evicted. We saw this start just a little while ago, and it looks like it'll be an all-night event.

It's a good time to look back at this Mail piece from early last December about how the camp apparently became something like a real-life version of Orwell's Animal Farm. Now, I am well aware that the Mail is just as capable as, say, the Guardian (which is well-known for it) for spinning stories to suit its desired message, but there is enough in this story to show that there is some real meat in here, as some of the commenters to that article have shown.

There have also been a few trolls and other lefties with their own odd slant, predictably. Actually, altogether there are just 28 comments, instead of the hundreds one typically finds attached to stories of this nature on national newspapers' websites, so it's quick and easy enough to go through them. It just goes to show, though, just how little interest the subject matter is, viz. the 'Occupy' camp and movement.

Perhaps the editor of Spiked, writing in The Telegraph a few days ago, has it sussed out – at least as the place apparently now is, full of addicts and the mentally unhealthy. It was never going to be anything useful in and of itself, and its degeneration was of course predictable; but its illustration of how lefty politics (which this naturally was) is always based on just taking in one form or another, with scant if any regard for others.

As it started, so it went on, with reports of the self-appointed élite (one of those terms familiar to regular readers here!) acting just as they do elsewhere and always have done, which is to help themselves to whatever they can get their hands on. When this whole Occupy business has over time faded into history, that illustration of the reality of all Left-based structures will, I suspect, become the only truly memorable aspect of it.

What we and our successors mustn't fail to do is to heed the message that it provides: no matter what the nature or ostensibly altruistic or well-intentioned motive behind something, if Lefties get hold of it they will act in exactly the same way as Lefties have behaved throughout history, everywhere in the world. They will take from it for themselves and oppress their fellows as much as anyone.

All Lefties are by nature thieves and dictators, without a single exception, no matter how well they conceal their true motives from others. The history of the world has consistently proven that, and the Occupy élite show that it is just as true today – and it always will be.
