Rosie Cheek

I was up at the doctor's surgery a few hours ago for my regular blood pressure check (very satisfactory it was too, at just 120/70!) and popped into the nearby Toys'R'Us to see what merchandise they currently have that relates to my favourite TV shows.

There was some Octonauts stuff, which was welcome, even though they had no GUP B/Kwazii packs (despite a price ticket of them) but additional GUP D packs with Captain Barnacles. Nothing wrong with them, but it did limit the choice.

I hunted around for Everything's Rosie items, and found the dolls – which really don't look like her at all, despite having all the right ingredients – and the twooter, which is much better.

Rosie really is a delightful character, and her appearance helps to convey much of that, so it has to be done properly. It isn't, though on the twooter the Rosie character is much closer to the original though still not quite good enough, I feel.

Perhaps I'm just getting too fussy in my old age, but I think it's a bit of a cheek having something so obviously and glaribgly wrong as one of the very few products out there in the shops..

I found no Waybuloo products at all, nor any 3rd and Bird (and I know there's a talking Muffin on the market) or Big Barn Farm (though I don't think there is much available from that programme). I did, however, find a good range of Chuggington DVDs with several episodes on each, and even a miniature Old Puffer Pete model in one pack.

Overall, it was somewhat disappointing for me; though I know of at least two people around here who will be pleased at the news that the shop is carrying good stocks of various Lego Star Wars packs, including the TIE fighter, Darth Maul's craft, and even the raiders' green-coloured assault craft....
