Fifty Thousand

Today this site passed the 50,000 visitor mark, just days before reaching the 2,000 posts point (this post is number 1,974). The Site Meter is located near the top of the left sidebar.

It is perhaps a good moment to thank all visitors here, especially those who comment, even the "hostiles"(!) It has been a very good two years or so, highly productive, and I am aware of the small but vital part it has played in helping to achieve some of my party's election and by-election results.

For example, I am aware of eight Conservative votes (there may have been more, for all I know) that otherwise would not have been cast that way, if at all, in last September's by-election in the Medway ward of Luton and Wayfield, because of what I reported here. Our Tashi took the seat from Labour by just four votes.

Thus is demonstrated one instance of the power of blogging...
