cites this tale of Gordon Brown, who loathed Frank Field and who kept him from admission to Gordon's presence, one day was unable to do so and, when Field started to expound his ideas for welfare reform,
"Brown stuck his fingers in his ears, shook his head vehemently, and whimpered."
Field was sacked from his ministerial position shortly afterward.
